I have already compiled and installed the latest drivers/firmware from video for linux. So the Atom and its onboard graphis can run the card ok.Ĭan anyone shed some light on this problem?įrom looking at dmseg output for the cx18 driver, it looks like I have a firmware loading problem. Naturally, the card works perfectly in XPp32 on the same machine. Now because I have a 2nd card, I want to try hard to get it working in openSUSE. I can't remember for sure, but I may have tried my 1st Hauppauge HVR-1600 card in the Atom and had the same problem then moved it to another machine where it worked.
Overall Review: I would go the the hauppauge web site and download the lastest drivers and software.I can't get the TV card working. But I guess if I really wanted one that bad I could have paid more and got one. It works great with windows media center also.
instead of using the install cd that came with the card.I went to the Hauppauge web site and got the new software ( wintv v7 ) and drivers and everything has worked just fine. I know that some other reviewers have had problems with the software but so far I have not had any problems and find it pretty easy to use. This one has been the best of them all.sooo far. I have had a number of tv tuner cards from different makers and none have a great picture. Good picture ( not great, but very good ). Pros: The card & software installed without a hitch. I plan on swapping out the PVR-250 with another HVR-1600

I plan on adding bigger antenna to remedy this. I'm only 16 miles from all the major station antennas (on south mountain) in Phoenix. I installed it, went to the hauppauge website, and downloaded and installed the latest drivers (didn't worry about the ones in the disk in the box) Media Center XP found it and it started working.Ĭons: The signal strength is not that great with my rabbit ears.
